Our auditors / professionals possess extensive expertise from local as well as foreign prerequisites. Our applied audit methodology, Grant Thornton Horizon, is modern and effective and in use in member firms around the world. The core of the methodology is the electronic assurance program Grant Thornton Voyager.

The objective of statutory audits is to produce an independent confirmation on the legitimacy of the financial statements, accounting and administration. In addition to this, we strive to bring our clients additional value with enhancement proposals on internal control issues.

Owner-managed businesses

We provide all-inclusive and high quality services to owner-managed companies for the whole duration of their financial period. Grant Thornton’s partners also act as owner managers themselves and understand the daily operations of an entrepreneur. Owner managed small and medium sized companies have been the cornerstone for our operations for over 80 years.

We fulfill our engagements in a way that, in addition to the year-end audit of the financial statements, the procedures that are performed during the financial year create a substantial part of the audit as a whole.

Understanding our clients’ operations is emphasized in our way of performing audit engagements. Without understanding of the operations it is difficult to make the correct conclusions purely based on the financial information.

Public companies

Grant Thornton audits thousands of public companies worldwide. In the Nordic countries alone, dozens of companies have turned to Grant Thornton in the audits of public companies. Our experts possess a vast experience in the audits of public companies as well as other statutory engagements.

We provide services to several foreign public companies acting as auditors for their local establishments in Finland.

IFRS - International Financial Reporting Standards / US GAAP

In cooperation with our international network, we can offer IFRS and US GAAP – expertise. During the last years, we have done several conversions where the financial statements prepared under the Accounting Act have been drafted to comply with the international standards, for example for listing in the USA.

Our IFRS – services include the review of financial statements prepared according IFRS, the conversions between the Accounting Act and IFRS as well as consulting on specific issues concerning various aspects.

In our IFRS – projects we have the global Grant Thornton expertise and tools specifically designed for IFRS – issues, at our disposal.

Several of our experts have participated in the translation work of IFRS – standards into Finnish.
